New Non-Surgical Laser Solution for Stress Urinary Incontinence
by: Marja Sprock M.D., F.A.C.O.G. FPMRS board certified

Stress Urinary incontinence (SUI) is the involuntary leakage of urine with coughing, laughing, sneezing, dancing, running or other activities.

Central Florida UroGynecology in Rockledge now offers Incontilase™, a 15-20 minute in office laser procedure to fix/improve SUI.

The proprietary “smooth mode” technology of the Fotona 2940 nm Er:YAG laser thermally affects the vaginal tissue, stimulating collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers.

The final result of the collagen neogenesis is shrinking and tightening of the vaginal mucosa tissue and collagen rich endopelvic fascia with subsequently greater support to the bladder and the return of normal continence. Revitalize your own tissue and regain continence.

Incontilase™, a minimally invasive solution for mild and moderate S.U.I

  • An office non-surgical procedure
  • Virtually painless
  • Walk in and walk out
  • Safe
  • Effective
  • Rejuvenating your own tissue
  • No incision, no stitches

Causes and treatment for S.U.I

Aging, vaginal childbirth and pregnancy as well as obesity and genetically weak tissue can all change the pelvic floor and urethral closure mechanism. Treatment options for SUI are strengthening the pelvic floor muscles (Kegels) or surgery, usually a sling. For special cases of SUI we can use in-office urethral bulking to stop the leakage.

If you only suffer from SUI, medications will not help.

Even though the surgically inserted sling works very well, it does introduce a foreign body and does require a vaginal incision and usually treatment in a surgical center.

Incontilase™ mechanism of success

94% of patients reported an improvement

68% were completely free of SUI after 120 days.

Incontilase™ is an office, walk in, walk out about 15 minute painless laser procedure. The vagina is treated with the 2940 nm Nd:YAG laser. A specialized vaginal laser piece is used and targets the anterior vaginal wall and area around the urethra. The non-ablative photo thermal laser stimulates collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers in the anterior vaginal wall and urethral area as well as the vaginal introitus. It thickens and tightens the vaginal wall and urethra. It stimulates your own natural tissue to provide the support which used to be there.

Results from clinical studies support that Incontilase™ works for patients with mild to moderate SUI

52 y/o Cindy suffered from SUI and had mastered pelvic floor muscle training. She leaked with coughing and sneezing and was dreading to start exercising because of the unexpected urine loss. She was interested in a sling for SUI, however preferred to try the Incontilase™ first. She had the procedure done in the morning and went back to work and her regular activities. Within a month she noticed significant improvement and only has slight leakage with a sneeze so hard it could break her windows. Cindy states: “it does not hurt, took about 15 minutes and the results were amazingly

The Incontilase™ is a unique and innovative treatment for mild to moderate SUI. It is currently not covered by insurance, however very affordable.
