The Emsella™ chair gives your pelvic floor the equivalent of a 3-month daily workout in a single 30-minute session.

Available at Central Florida UroGynecology in Rockledge, this treatment uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles, which are crucial for continence. The Emsella™ chair is FDA-cleared specifically for treating urinary incontinence. While we make no other claims, it’s well-understood that strong pelvic floor muscles contribute to both urinary and fecal continence, as well as the enhancement of sexual pleasure.

In a 30-minute session, the Emsella™ chair can induce approximately 11,000 Kegel-type contractions.

The process is simple: stay entirely clothed, sit on the chair, and let the electromagnetic pulses do the work. There’s no downtime, and the treatment is performed with your clothes on. Unlike our pelvic floor biofeedback training, the Emsella™ chair treatment is not covered by insurance.

We’re committed to continuing our insurance-covered pelvic floor training, but we acknowledge the unique capability of the Emsella™ chair to perform 11,000 contractions in just 30 minutes.

No consultation is needed to begin with the Emsella™, allowing you to sign up for 6 sessions or opt for a low-priced trial session to experience its benefits firsthand.

Take it from Diane T., a 53-year-old who struggled with incontinence during her tennis serves. Skeptical at first, Diane’s trial session with the Emsella™ chair made her a believer in its efficacy.

Emsella™ at a glance:

  • Utilizes electromagnetic technology
  • Offers a high-intensity workout for pelvic muscles while fully clothed
  • Recommended treatment consists of 6 sessions
  • No prior consultation is required

What a Session Actually Looks Like

You arrive and stay fully clothed for the entire appointment — there is no gown, no undressing, and no preparation needed beforehand. You sit on the chair for roughly 30 minutes while the electromagnetic pulses do the work. Most people describe the sensation as a strong but painless tingling or tapping as the muscles contract.

Because there is no downtime, you can drive yourself to and from the appointment and go straight back to work, errands, or the gym afterward. Many patients schedule sessions over a lunch break.

Who Tends to Ask About Emsella

The Emsella™ chair is FDA-cleared specifically for urinary incontinence, and that is the reason most patients ask about it — leaking with a cough, a sneeze, a laugh, a tennis serve, or a run. It is also a common question from patients who want to strengthen the pelvic floor but have found a home Kegel routine difficult to stay consistent with, since a single session delivers roughly 11,000 contractions without any effort to coordinate on your own.

If you are not sure whether your symptoms point toward Emsella™ or toward one of the insurance-covered options, that is a reasonable thing to ask about at a visit. We continue to offer insurance-covered pelvic floor biofeedback training, and for many patients that remains the right starting point.
